Privacy Notice

Effective 13 September 2026. Home Quirk Guide is operated by Beverly Lynn Garrett.

Who is responsible

Beverly Lynn Garrett, operating Home Quirk Guide as an individual, is responsible for the personal information used to provide the service. Contact homequirkguide@gmail.com with privacy or product-support questions. Paddle separately handles personal and payment information for purchases as authorised reseller and Merchant of Record.

Information we use, and why

We process your account email and sign-in information to run and secure your account; homeowner, property and guide information plus uploaded photos and videos to provide your guide; sitter names, private access records, opening history and sitter notes to provide and control sharing; support messages to answer you; and limited Paddle customer and transaction records to confirm purchases, refunds and access and to meet legal obligations. We do not receive or store complete card details.

Legal grounds

Depending on where you live, we rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, your consent where required, and legal obligations.

Sharing and service providers

We share information only as needed with our platform provider and its infrastructure providers for hosting, sign-in, database, file storage and error reporting; with Paddle for checkout, payment, tax, invoicing and refunds; with professional advisers; and with authorities where the law requires. We do not sell personal information. An active sitter link shares that guide with whoever holds the link, and the homeowner controls when links are created, expire or are revoked.

International processing

Some of our service providers operate internationally, so your information may be processed outside your province or country and may be subject to the laws of those places. We rely on the contractual and other safeguards those providers offer. We do not publish a specific hosting country for this service.

Browser storage, cookies, analytics and advertising

The app stores information in your browser to keep you signed in and may store an interface preference. Limited error diagnostics, including the page where an error happened, may be sent to our platform provider.

We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors find and use Home Quirk Guide, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising. These tools receive standard browsing information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, and the source that brought you to the site (for example UTM parameters, gclid, fbclid and referrer). Where required by law, we ask for your consent before loading these tags, and you can change your choice using the cookie settings below. Paddle checkout may use its own cookies and similar technologies under Paddle's own notices.

When you complete a purchase, we store the same source information with your Paddle transaction record so we can later tie the purchase back to the acquisition channel.

If you have allowed Meta tracking, or your region does not require a choice, we also send Meta a record of a completed purchase directly from our servers - its value, together with a scrambled (hashed) copy of the email and customer reference from your Paddle payment - so the sale is counted even if your browser was unable to report it. If you have not allowed Meta tracking, no purchase information is sent to Meta from our servers at all.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep your account and guide information while it is needed to provide the service, or until you ask us to delete it, subject to legal and operational needs. You can delete individual cards and media yourself in the editor.

Deleting an entire guide or an account cannot be done from within the app. Email homequirkguide@gmail.com and tell us which you want deleted. Deleting a guide removes its content but does not close your sign-in account; closing an account also covers its guide data.

Deleted information may remain for a time in routine provider backups until those backups expire. Some purchase, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute and legal records may be kept where the law requires. We do not state fixed retention periods, because none are set for this service.

Security

The service uses password-protected accounts, per-account database access rules, private non-guessable sitter links and short-lived links for photos and videos. These measures reduce risk, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict some processing, withdraw consent where relevant, or complain to the appropriate privacy authority. Contact homequirkguide@gmail.com. We may need to verify who is making the request.
